Angel Extravaganza, Level 4

Angel Extravaganza, Level 4


AE as it's affectionately known in the Eve Online community.

It's one of the most dangerous level 4 missions in the game. There is a "bonus room" at the end that requires an Angel Diamond tag to get in.

The incoming fire from the bonus room can quickly overwhelm you if you aren't prepared and result in a lost ship. I have lost a couple ships to this mission.

I want to share the mission prep page with my family and friends because I know they love seeing what games I play. (The opposite is true) The Eve-Survival Wiki is down but I mirrored the site a long time ago just in case. Glad I did.

So I am getting ready to do this mission but here is the prep page info:

Faction: Angel Cartel
Mission type: Encounter
Space type: Gated Deadspace (That allows MWD to work as of 05/March/2010)
Damage dealt: Explosive/Kinetic (Some EM/Thermal in Bonus Room, see tips at bottom)
Web/Scramble: Elite Frigates (Angel Webifier/Angel Viper), Spider Drones
Extras: Target Painters (Arch Gistii Ruffian/Nomad/Saint)
Recommended damage dealing: Explosive (best), Kinetic (secondary)
Recommended ships: Machariel, Vargur, Sleipnir, Tengu, anything that does much dps (preferably expl/kin), tanking doesn't require much, with the exception of bonus room.
Bonus pocket ships: Machariel, Vargur, Tengu, (Sleipnir, as long as your cap lasts), or anything else that either does A LOT of dps to take out most of the aggression, so that you have to tank less, or something that has a massive tank and doesn't need to worry about that.

Note: Identifying the spawn trigger is difficult. It is usually the highest bounty battleship, but not always.
It will get confusing when there are two (or more) battleships with the same name or two different battleships where either one is the possible trigger.
Try to see if one flies differently i.e. a little separated from the main group.

  • Fleet members may use the acceleration gate without the tag if they do it within 10 seconds after activation.

  • Tower Sentry Angel III fires every 2-3 secs. Each hit deals 80-250 Explosive damage at 0% Exp resistance.

Structures:
  • Angel Battlestation & Angel Bunker drop T1 modules and ammo.
  • Disk Structure does not drop anything, don't waste the ammo.
Tip:
  • Move away from the Angel Battlestation/Bunker after warping in. This will buy you a bit of time to kill the sentries as the enemy ships try to close in.
  • Eliminating all the Angel Cruise Missile batteries and Tower Sentry Angel III first will negate a significant portion of the incoming damage.
  • Do not kill the Gist Seraphim trigger, wait until you have cleared the pocket from all hostile targets.
  • The Single Spawn won't spawn if you destroy the Angel Bunker before Killing the Gist Seraphim.
  • The bonus room deals some EM/Thermal damage. Depending on what spawns, the mixture can be anywhere from Exp 55% / Kin 22% / EM 14% / Therm 9% to Exp 49% / Kin 28% / Therm 15 % / EM 7%. The sentry towers deal equal EM / Therm. Angel Cruise Batteries, Arch Gistii Ruffian, and Gistatis Tribunis deal lots of Thermal. Angel Viper, Gistatis Legatus, Gist Malakim, and Gist Throne deal EM. Removing these may help your tank, depending how you decide to set up.

Blitz

  • Pocket 1: Kill all the structures then kill the initial ships and spawn.
  • Pocket 2: Kill all ships.
  • Pocket 3: Kill the battleship, ignore everything else.
  • Pocket 4: Kill the Silo (bookmark the can) and the Radio Telescope, then kill all ships.
  • Pocket 5: Kill the battleships, starting with the highest bounty of each group until the next group spawns. Repeat until Tiogo Kargaz spawns. Kill him and you're done.

Congressional Email and My Response

From my Congressman Joe Courtney:

Right now, a bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform bill that has been passed by the Senate is stuck in limbo as House leadership has refused to hold a vote. This commonsense solution would prioritize protecting our borders, reform our worker visa programs, promote the growth of our economy, and honor America’s rich history as a melting pot. As an added benefit to our economy, a nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office report noted that immigration reform would boost our economy and reduce the budget deficit.

We must also be fair and just when resolving the status of individuals and families trapped in the immigration process, and ensure that businesses abide by the law, while providing them with the workers they need. There are an estimated 11 million immigrants without legal status in this country, many of whom have been working, paying taxes, and contributing to our communities. For these individuals, a rigorous but fair path towards legal status must be established, with the objective of protecting those have attempted to work within the broken system while ensuring that we do not reward those who flagrantly violated the law.

The bipartisan bill passed by the Senate in June reflects these critical priorities. That is why a broad range of stakeholders have called for action on immigration reform in Congress – from the United States Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Travel Association, to the American Farm Bureau to labor organizations. The Senate bill passed in a 68-32 vote, with 14 Republican Senators joining in support. Despite this strong showing, House Speaker John Boehner has so far refused to bring the measure for a vote in the House.

In October, I co-sponsored the House companion bill to S. 744, and I have called on Speaker Boehner to begin a substantive debate on comprehensive immigration reform. Instead of running out the clock on the end of this legislative session, we should tackle one of the major issues facing our nation, and work on a comprehensive, bipartisan solution to reforming our immigration system.

My response:

Dear Mr. Courtney, I want to thank you for your frequent communication on the issues facing Connecticut and our Country. Your insight is great and your ability to get things done is apparent. I am writing to respond to your email about immigration.

I agree with your email and thank you for facing this difficult issue head on. I would encourage you to continue to find common sense and humane solutions to difficult problems. I would also ask that you remember than those of us making less than $40,000 a year are barely surviving and need protection against increasing costs of energy, taxes, and fees.

We are on the verge of being more oil independent than we have been in decades and the price at the pump reflects this and that is great. The same goes for natural gas. Yet this massive natural resource that should belong to all of us is benefiting just a few lucky landowners and the major corporations.
That's great. I'm not saying we should have price controls but I am saying that it's criminal that people in this country freeze to death every single year because they can't afford heat. Personally I haven't used my gas furnace since 1999 because I can't afford $500 a month to keep the temperature at 55 degrees.

I don't want anything from the government, I am managing so far but I want protection from unfair taxes that have gone up locally. Property taxes in Putnam, Ct. have gone up yet again and the water and sewer bills have risen by what I consider criminal amounts.

 It now costs me over $700 every three months for water and sewer. I get that there are things that have to be paid for but when the taxes and fees get so high that I have to sell my house that I have been paying for for over 13 years then we have a serious problem.

I know you have a lot on your plate and this type of local issue is probably not something Congress can do anything about but I sure would appreciate it if people like me in the very lower middle class are not forced into poverty. Thank you very much for your time and for all you do.

Writing, Writing, Writing

Lately I haven't really had time to be here writing because I'm writing at work all day.

My new job is posting jobs on the www.usajobs.gov website and it's great fun. I especially enjoy being able to help fellow Veterans find jobs.

In addition to writing the jobs, when I'm contacted by someone who needs help with the website I can invite them in to the office and personally show them how to apply for a job.
